Metropolitan Police officer charged with assaulting boy, 14, after 'altercation' | The Sun11/22/2022
A MET Police officer has been charged with assaulting a 14-year-old boy after an alleged altercation.
Metropolitan Police constable Paul Bewsey will appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on Thursday over the allegations.
He is accused of common assault on the teenager in Brentwood, Essex.
Police today said he was off duty at the time the allegations unfolded.
Brewsey works in the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command unit.
The Met said the charge relates to an "altercation" on April 21 in Hanging Hill Lane.
Bewsey, who was charged by postal requisition on October 21, is on restricted duties.
