A 67-year-old woman was likely choked to death inside her Upper East Side apartment — and police are eyeing her husband in connection to the crime, according to cops and police sources.
The woman was discovered inside the home on East 87th Street near Park Avenue just after 10 p.m. Wednesday with abrasions on her neck, cops said.
She was pronounced dead on scene.
Her injuries were “consistent with strangulation,” according to police sources. It appeared that she was dead inside the home for more than a day.
Her 71-year-old husband was arrested on scene for violating his wife’s order of protection, the sources said.
Investigators are probing whether he was involved in his wife’s death.
The couple had a history of domestic violence, police sources said.
